WordPress Plugin: WordPress TwitterBot

I was looking for a lightweight plugin that could post my blog updates to my Twitter account. I couldn’t find the right one for me so decided to code my own. There are many great Twitter plugins available for WordPress, but they are all so feature packed and bloated.

I call the plugin WordPress Twitterbot

Why Use WordPress Twitterbot?

Here are the features of WordPress Twitterbot:

• Any post you make will be tweeted to your Twitter account
• Future scheduled posts will not be tweeted until they are live
• Links are passed through TinyURL, to reduce the URL siz
• Ability to turn off the tweet feature on a per-post setting
• Tweet about an updated post (optional)
• Prefixes of “New Post” and “Updated Post” are customisable through the options panel
• Updated to work with WordPress 2.7
